Attractions

Fireflies and mangroves are Kuala Selangor's main attractions, but hills, parks and museums provide more sightseeing opportunities for visitors to this coastal town. Firefly watching is done by boat across the river from either Kampung Kuantan or Kampung Belimbing. The Nature Park, or Taman Alam, is another famous destination, especially for nature lovers. This mangrove and wetlands sanctuary is a bird watching area, with interesting landscape and wildlife sights. Bukit Melawati is the highest hill in town that overlooks the Selangor River, with the remains of a historic fort at the peak and adorable silver leaf monkeys that congregate here daily.
