Budget hotels are the only type of accommodation found in town, but most rooms are generally comfortable and equipped with modern amenities, including air-conditioning, water heaters and complimentary WIFI for some. All the budget hotels are nestled among shophouses, with some perched along the main road at town center, while others at the base of Bukit Melawati. At some hotels, guests can even book large family rooms to fit several people for the night, besides the standard single or twin bedroom. Rates range from as low as MYR30 per night for the very basic, to MYR90 per night for newer hotels with modern furnishings.
